Advanced Testing
Digestive Dietitian LLC offers a variety of different tests to better understand and address your digestive concerns. Here are the tests most commonly used by Digestive Dietitian LLC:
Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory GI-MAP Test
GI-MAP (Microbial Assay Plus) is a comprehensive stool test that relies on quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology to detect parasites, bacteria, fungi, and more. The quantitative insights provided in this process allow us to create more personalized recommendations for optimizing gut function and addressing chronic symptoms.
Disclaimer: Please note that microbiome testing is not diagnostic. The human microbiome is a complex, ever-evolving ecosystem, meaning test results capture only a single snapshot in time. As the scientific community continues to learn how to best apply this data in clinical practice, we always interpret these findings as just one piece of the puzzle, carefully weighing them against your current symptoms and overall well-being.
Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) Breath Test
Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth is a common clinical conditional characterized by excessive bacterial (or methanogenic) development in the small intestine. This non-invasive breath test captures exhaled hydrogen and methane to provide practitioners with the insight to determine if SIBO is present.
Sucrose Breath Test
Sucrose intolerance is the inability to breakdown foods containing sucrose (table sugar) due to a lack of digestive enzymes, sucrase and isomaltase. Sucrose intolerance can be acquired or genetic. The genetic form is referred to as congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (CSID). This non-invasive breath test measures sucrase-isomaltase enzymatic activity.
